The State Conference for 2014 will be hosted by the Shire of Nillumbik and take place at the Eltham Community and Reception Centre, 801 Main Road Eltham on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd May. The Minister for Women’s Affairs, Heidi Victoria, will formally open the conference. Speakers include Mary Crooks of the Victorian Women’s Trust, former Councillor and Mayor of Greater Dandenong, and now Federal Member for Hotham, Clare O’Neil, and a panel of western suburbs mayors. The conference includes a presentation from Amanda Gibson on The Tree Project by blacksmiths worldwide to build a lasting memorial to bushfire victims. There will be a bus tour to the tree and other memorials on the morning of the 2nd. Further details are available by clicking on the links below.

The ALGWA State Conference for 2016 will be held on the 7- 8 April and hosted by the City of Banyule. The venue is the wonderful Art Deco Ivanhoe Centre, 275 Upper Heidelberg Road Ivanhoe and we have some great speakers, including Lyn Swinburne, founder of the Breast Cancer Network and Amy Mullins, executive director of the Women’s Leadership Institute of Australia. With the 2022 ALGWA Vic State Conference hosted by Greater Shepparton City Council just around the corner, we are now seeking Expressions of Interest from rural councils that would like to host the 2024 ALGWA Vic State Conference.
This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your region to some of Victoria’s most influential and powerful women, while also networking and building relationships with like-minded individuals.
The ALGWA Vic State Conference is a two-day event that includes a variety of keynote presentations, discussions, and social events.
We’ve already locked in 2023’s conference, where Mornington Peninsula Shire Council will not only host the 2023 ALGWA Vic State Conference but also the ALGWA National Conference! Now, we’re excited to open up EOIs for rural councils looking to host the 2024 conference. That way, there’ll be plenty of time to prepare and take the ALGWA Vic 2024 State Conference to the next level.
