ALGWA Victoria is a non partisan collective voice for women in local Government. We provide ways for women from across the state to come together to share wisdom, experience and support.
We are a community of dynamic, passionate women committed to enhancing democracy for all Australians by increasing the number of women on councils across Victoria. Our membership, events and promotions help our members be informed, included and inspired.
Current membership prices and features are:
Council Membership
Metro Council - $1000 per year
Large Regional Council - $750 per year
Rural Council - $500 per year
Council membership covers all councillors and officers in your council interested in being part of ALGWA with: access to ALGWA National monthly online masterclasses, discount tickets to our conference and events, quarterly newsletters, access to our award winning mentoring program and the opportunity to be host council for our annual state conference and nominate an officer in our annual Bursary Awards held at the LGPro Womens Dinner in Oct 2025.
If individual councillors or officers would like to nominate for the committee and have voting rights at our AGM they are welcome to join as an individual member as well as being a part of the council membership. Individual membership is a low fee of $100 per year.
Organisation Membership
Metro - $1000 per year
Large Regional - $750 per year
Small Regional/Rural - $500
For organisations external to Council whose values and purpose align with ALGWA Victoria.
Individual Membership
All individual membership - $100 per year
Individual membership entitles you to participate in our mentoring program at no cost, nominate for an executive committee member position, nominate for a sub-committee position, vote at the AGM, and receive discounts to all paid events including our annual conference (August 28-30 at Hume City council).
Membership of the Association is open to all persons interested in Local Government and our membership includes Councillors, Local Government Officers, former Councillors, Councils, and intending Local Government candidates.
