The State Conference for 2014 will be hosted by the Shire of Nillumbik and take place at the Eltham Community and Reception Centre, 801 Main Road Eltham on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd May. The Minister for Women’s Affairs, Heidi Victoria, will formally open the conference. Speakers include Mary Crooks of the Victorian Women’s Trust, former Councillor and Mayor of Greater Dandenong, and now Federal Member for Hotham, Clare O’Neil, and a panel of western suburbs mayors. The conference includes a presentation from Amanda Gibson on The Tree Project by blacksmiths worldwide to build a lasting memorial to bushfire victims. There will be a bus tour to the tree and other memorials on the morning of the 2nd. Further details are available by clicking on the links below.

The ALGWA State Conference for 2016 will be held on the 7- 8 April and hosted by the City of Banyule. The venue is the wonderful Art Deco Ivanhoe Centre, 275 Upper Heidelberg Road Ivanhoe and we have some great speakers, including Lyn Swinburne, founder of the Breast Cancer Network and Amy Mullins, executive director of the Women’s Leadership Institute of Australia.
