ALGWA (Vic) is the strong collective voice for local democracy. It is the pre-eminent leader in a community of dynamic and passionate women in Local Government. We are committed to our intent of advancing leadership to enhance democracy of all Australians. Our membership, events and promotions, enable women at all levels to stay informed, connected and inspired. We are excited to lead change and create a strong, collective voice for our communities by the bringing together of extraordinary women from across the state.
Membership of the Association is open to all persons interested in Local Government and our membership includes Councillors, Local Government Officers, former councillors, Councils, and intending Local Government candidates.
Individual membership fees enable the Association to offer multiple programs. Our mentoring program, online forums, conferences and events, and general support. Membership also assists in administering the day-to-day operations throughout the State.
Council membership is for council officers to access the annual Bursary Award to assist them financially in their studies to further their careers and local government.
Memberships are due July 1 of each year irrespective of when you join ALGWA Vic.

Individual membership entitles you to participate in our mentoring program at no cost, nominate for an executive committee member position, nominate for a sub-committee position, vote at the AGM, and receive discounts to all paid events including our annual conference.
Council membership entitles all officers to attend events including our annual conference, one voting right at the AGM, the ability to nominate for the Bursary Award, and participate in programs run for all members. This membership also enables an officer to nominate for an executive committee member position or for a sub-committee position.
For organisations external to Council whose values and purpose align with ALGWA Vic. Location based on where operations are.
